I wanted to post my Quick Stats experience below.
I am sure all of it is listed above but I wanted to put everything in an attempt to be helpful.

First: I am running Wordpress Version 3.1.3 and installed this plugin using the "Admin Menus -> Plugins -> Add New -> Install Plugins" section. It was brain numbingly easy. Wordpress is soooo much easier than Joomla. I didn't need to upload any quickstats.php file.

Second: rss.php & rss.png are referenced in the code at "../wp-content/plugins/quickstats/" however they are actually installed at "../wp-content/plugins/quickstats/quickstats/". Not a biggy. I just moved the files to the correct location and done.

Third: configuring Quick Stats is referred to in the readme as "Admin Menu -> Options -> Quick Stats" but is actually "Admin Menu -> Settings -> Quick Stats", at least for the WP 3.1.3.

Fourth: viewing Quick Stats is referred to in the readme as "Admin Menu -> Manage -> Show Stats" but is actually "Admin Menu -> Posts -> Show Stats", at least for WP 3.1.3.

Thanks,
Dustin

I haven't really updated the code since 2006 but QuickStats is truly open source. If you have a patch for that I can put it in with credits to you.

I am afraid not. I'll try to take your suggestion into account, but don't hold your breath. I haven't touched QuickStats since 2006.
