QuickStats 1.0

This version is no longer supported. QuickStats 1.1 is now available here

Quick Stats is a configurable and embarassingly easy to install statistics plugin for wordpress that shows live statistics about referrer data, content hit count and browser versions back to a configurable number of hits. Individual hits are also shown with ip address and hostname.

Quick Stats is not meant to be a full featured log analyzer. It is intended to show realtime statistics on a recent time window. It does all the analysis on demand and shows them on an easily accesible single page.

Installation

1. Upload `quickstats.php` to your plugins folder, usually `wp-content/plugins/`
2. Activate the plugin on the plugin screen

    1. Hey I cant view the Stats, the only thing i can access are the settings and if i wanna update them. Where do I view the stats?? it doesnt show anywhere!

(It should be under Manage/Show Stats in admin menu – Jim Qode)

    2. this is very nice counter and very easy install…
      Thanks a lot…
      :]

    3. Hey. I just wanted to say thanks for a great plugin. It was super easy to understand and install. It’s very helpful.

    4. I just downloaded your plugin and installed it- so far no problem. Nice work. But how far back do the stats go? A day? A month? Can the site owner set this somehow?

[stats go back to a configurable amount of hits. You can configure it from options -> Quick Stats -> Store Max Hits : JimQode]

how do i filter a range of IPs? Say 192.168.0.0/16

that’s not supported yet. But i’m definitely adding it to my to do list – JimQode

    6. Thank you very much for that great plugin, simple and easy, a pleasure to use :)

The only way I can help is with improvement suggestions, if that can interest you :)
      [ really : I mean to help, not to whine ;) ]

      - when a site has MANY pages, records MANY hits, and has MANY referers, it would be good to have anchors for each section of the stats (summary, referers, pages seen…) and an hyperlink list on top of the page for each of those anchors.

      - if that is technically possible, it would be very very useful to be able to track too the outgoing links, to know what people clicked when they left our site.

Once again, thank you very much for your work :)

Thank you for your nice comment! First one will definitely make it to the next version. I’ll check if the second one is possible. –JimQode

    7. nice plugin for WP
      good work

    8. Thanks for that great tool …

    9. I think this is a great plugin, easy to install and justworks(tm).

I have one feature request that would be very very helpful: Instead of filtering IPs, it would be much easier if we could filter by host or domain name. I really don’t want to see the crawlers in the stats, but they change IPs frequently.

      Great and useful plugin!

Would be great if you could email the stats at a time interval!

      thanks

    10. Hi:

I am new to wordpress, and this is my first plugin. I wanted to add a simple counter to my blog. I uploaded and activated 1.1 in WP manage plugins panel. I am not seeing the stats. I am not sure where to look. Thanks. Laurie

Does this work in WordPress 2.9.1? I see Quick Stats Setting page but that’s about it. There’s nothing else for this plugin in the admin menu.

    11. When I click on Quickstats in my dashboard, I get the following message:

“Cannot create QuickStats table. Database user does not have CREATE priviledge.”

I’m not very computer knowledgeable. What does this mean and how can I fix it.
      Thanks,

      Al

    12. After installing & configuring the plugin go to the left menu of your admin dashboard, click “Posts” & then “Show Stats”. That’s all :)

      &
Also under POSTS > Show Stats

    14. @Hey
      Hello,
I also can’t see the stats! No menu entry for quickstats, but just for the settings.
I couldn’t also find the rss picture in the settings. How should look the URL for it like?
      Thanks a lot!

I don’t see a stats link on the admin page either. Which heading is it supposed to be under? I do see the settings configuration page under the settings heading.

    16. I haven’t updated QuickStats for a long time, but it seems to be working fine on the most recent version of WordPress. (3.0.1)

    17. This means the mysql user for wordpress does not have the right to create a table. Tables are used to store data. And script needs this priviledge to create the table where it will store stats information. If you are not sure how to do it, you will need to ask your hosting service to do it for you.

    18. The menu option for QuickStats now seems to be located in the bottom part of the left menu in newer WordPress versions.

I wanted to post my Quick Stats experience below.
I am sure all of it is listed above but I wanted to put everything in an attempt to be helpful.

First: I am running WordPress Version 3.1.3 and installed this plugin using the “Admin Menus -> Plugins -> Add New -> Install Plugins” section. It was brain numbingly easy. WordPress is soooo much easier than Joomla. I didn’t need to upload any quickstats.php file.

Second: rss.php & rss.png are referenced in the code at “../wp-content/plugins/quickstats/” however they are actually installed at “../wp-content/plugins/quickstats/quickstats/”. Not a biggy. I just moved the files to the correct location and done.

Third: configuring Quick Stats is referred to in the readme as “Admin Menu -> Options -> Quick Stats” but is actually “Admin Menu -> Settings -> Quick Stats”, at least for the WP 3.1.3.

Fourth: viewing Quick Stats is referred to in the readme as “Admin Menu -> Manage -> Show Stats” but is actually “Admin Menu -> Posts -> Show Stats”, at least for WP 3.1.3.

      Thanks,
      Dustin
